Frequently asked questions
What you ask us most about the archive, about what you can do with a photograph, and about how membership works. If your question is not here, write to us — you will get a personal reply.
General
A photographic archive of Andorra: one photographer’s view of the country, its landscape, its people and what is changing. It is not a generic stock library — everything in it was photographed here by someone who lives here, and the archive keeps growing. You can browse all of it without signing up, and take away the images you need.
Anyone. People who want an image of their own valley to hang at home, media and publishers, shops and hotels, designers and agencies working for a client, institutions documenting the territory. What changes from one case to the next is not access to the archive, which is open, but the licence you take the photograph away under.
In Catalan, Spanish, French and English. You can switch language at any time from the selector in the header, and the emails we send —purchase confirmation, invoice, membership notices— arrive in the language you were using.
Account and membership
With your email and a password, from “Create account”. We send you a verification link valid for 3 days: opening it verifies your account and signs you straight in. You do not need an account to buy a single photo — an account is memory, not permission: it is where your purchases, invoices and favourites are kept, and where your download balance lives if you become a member.
Create an accountFrom your account, in one click, without calling anyone. Cancelling stops the renewal, but you stay a member until the last day of the period you have already paid for, and your accumulated downloads stay spendable until then. If you change your mind you can resume before it ends, with no consequence. A Fortior patronage is agreed and closed in conversation.

Yes. The licence covers use on your own channels and materials: your website, your social accounts, your menu, your brochure, the screen in your reception. What it does not cover is using it on behalf of somebody else —a client of yours— or reselling or passing it on as if it were yours. If your case is a large campaign, a billboard or packaging, it is better to agree it in writing first.
Write to usYes, but not under the standard licence. Your account and your membership cover your own use; the moment the image is published on behalf of a third party, it is that client who needs the licence. There are two ways to handle it: the client gets their own account, or you write to us with the project and we issue a licence in their name. The second tends to be easier if you work with several brands.
Write to usWhat is published here are reduced versions of the original: the ones you see at a large size carry a watermark, and the catalogue thumbnails are too small for any other use. What you download never carries one — neither the web file nor the original. The same goes for video: the player on the detail page is marked, and the clip you buy is clean, complete and with sound.
The standard licence is not exclusive: the same image can be in the archive for somebody else too. If you need exclusivity —a photograph that is only yours, or one withdrawn from the catalogue— it is agreed case by case and it has a price, because it means giving up selling it to anyone else. The natural route for that is Fortior patronage: a commissioned collection, made for you, that only you can download at high resolution.
Write to usFor ordinary commercial use it is not required, though it is much appreciated; for editorial, press or educational use we do ask for it: “© Fotolocals” or “Photo: Fotolocals” beside the image or in the credits. What you may never do is claim authorship or strip out existing credits.
Reselling it, passing it on or redistributing it as a file, uploading it to another stock library, using it to train artificial intelligence models, registering it as a trademark, claiming authorship, or using it in contexts that defame or misrepresent what it shows — people, places or events. You also may not share your account or your download links with third parties: the licence belongs to whoever bought it.
Yes: crop it, adjust the colour, place it in a layout, put text over it. What we ask is that the edit does not change the documentary meaning of the image —do not invent a place that does not exist or an event that did not happen— and that the photograph is not used as source material to generate images with artificial intelligence.
Experiences
Small-group photography outings around Andorra, guided by the photographer behind the archive: sunrise at a high mountain lake, an autumn route, a night photography session. They are not a theory course — you walk, you wait for the light and you shoot, with whatever camera you have or with your phone. Dates are announced in the newsletter and on Instagram.
Write to us with the date you are interested in and how many of you there are. We confirm the place and send you the details: meeting point, time, duration, what to bring and how much walking is involved. Places are limited and allocated in order of confirmation.
Write to usNo. Booking is free and we do not ask for a card to hold your place: we confirm by email and that is it.
Yes, up to 48 hours before the outing. Let us know and nothing is charged — no explanation needed and no penalty.
When the group closes, 48 hours before the outing — the same moment the free cancellation window ends. Before that there is no charge at all.
Within the last 48 hours the place is already counted and the amount is charged: the group is closed and nobody else can take that spot. If you cannot make it after all, you can pass your place to someone else by letting us know — that works just as well for us.
In the mountains the weather decides. If conditions are unsafe or the light makes the outing pointless, we postpone: we propose a new date and, if none of them suits you, the full amount is refunded. Mist or light rain do not count as bad weather — sometimes they are the best light of the year.
Proposals
Write to us and tell us about it: a village, a trade, a festival, a road before they change it. Proposals go onto the list of what will be photographed, and Unita members have priority in proposing and voting on the next subjects. We cannot commit to a date —some subjects depend on a season or on one particular light— but everything that arrives gets read.
Write to usThe archive is one photographer’s body of work and does not take open submissions: everything in it was photographed by her. That said, if you hold historical material about Andorra —old photographs, family pictures, archive material— that you think should be preserved, write to us: that kind of holding does interest us, and we look for a way to give it a place.

By email, and you get a personal reply — there is no call centre behind Fotolocals, there is a photographer. We are on Instagram too. If your question is about a specific purchase, include the order or invoice number and it will be sorted out sooner.
Write to usThe new photographs entering the archive, the outings and experiences opening up and, now and then, the story of how one image was made. Nothing else: no daily promotions and no addresses bought from anyone. You can subscribe from the foot of this page and unsubscribe in one click from any mailing — the link is in every one.
We keep the minimum: your email and your name if you open an account, and the tax details required to issue an invoice. Passwords are stored encrypted and we never see them. Card payments are handled by Redsys: we neither see nor store your card number. We do not sell or pass your address to anyone. You can ask for access to your data, its correction or its deletion by writing to us.
